Somewhere Between Healing and Regret

Two month.

It had been only two month since Jaipur.

But for Akanksha, that two months had changed something inside her.

She wasn't completely healed.

She still remembered that room..

Still remembered the moment her eyes had met Yogesh's.

Still remembered the strange silence between them. And sometimes, when she was alone, the memories returned without warning.

But something was different now.She no longer allowed those memories to control her.

She had finally understood that she couldn't spend the rest of her life running away from people, places, or questions simply because they reminded her of him.So when someone asked about Yogesh now,

she didn't freeze.

She didn't look away.

She didn't let her smile disappear.

She simply smile and answere.

Sometimes she gave a simple reply.

Sometimes she laughed it off.

And sometimes, when the question became too personal, she simply move on to another topic.Nobody could tell what was happening inside her.And perhaps that was her biggest victory.Because once, even hearing his name had been enough to break her composure.

Now she could hear it.....and continue talking.

During these weeks, Akanksha had also found something she hadn't expected.

New people.

New friendships.

And, slowly, a new version of herself.

Her bond with Suzanne had become particularly strong.Suzanne had genuinely supported her during Splitsvilla, not because she wanted anything from her, but because she understood what Akanksha had been going through. That friendship slowly became deeper.

Through Suzanne, Akanksha became comfortable around Rohit too.

Then there were Niharika, Gullu and Kaira.

People who slowly became part of her everyday life.

She even met Subhangi a few times.

They weren't extremely close, but they had become familiar enough to talk comfortably. And none of them told her what was really happening with Yogesh.

Not because they hated her.

Not because they wanted to protect Yogesh from the truth.

They were protecting Akanksha.

They had watched her struggle.

They had seen how much splitsvilla had affected her.

And they knew that telling her about Yogesh's condition without knowing what she wanted to do with that information could reopen wounds she had finally managed to close.

So they stayed quiet.

Even when they knew.

Even when they are worried.

Even when Yogesh's name came up in conversations.

They kept it to themselves.

Because sometimes...silence is not a lie.Sometimes it is simply an attempt to protect someone until the right moment comes.

In last month there wasUrfi's success party.Akanksha already knew there was a possibility that Yogesh would be there.

Suzanne was attending.

Rohit was attending.

And because of them, Yogesh could be there too.For a few seconds, the thought made her uncomfortable.

The old Akanksha might have found an excuse not to go.

She might have told herself that she wasn't ready.

But she wasn't that girl anymore.

She looked at herself in the mirror before leaving.

There was still nervousness in her eyes.

Still a small fear somewhere in her chest.

But she took a breath.

"I'm not going there for him," she quietly reminded herself."I'm going there for myself."

And she went.

She didn't know whether she would actually face him that night.

She didn't know whether their eyes would meet again.

But for the first time...

she wasn't afraid of the possibility.

Because Akanksha had learnt something important.

Facing your pain doesn't always mean talking about it.Sometimes it simply means standing in the same room with the person who hurt you...and realizing that you are still standing.

Meanwhile, in Yogesh's world...

Things were moving in the opposite direction.

If Akanksha was slowly finding her way back to herself...

Yogesh was slowly losing his.

After Jaipur, something inside him had changed. He had thought seeing Akanksha would give him some kind of clarity.Instead, it had made everything worse.Because seeing her again had reminded him of everything he had tried not to think about.

The way she had looked at him.

The silence.

The distance.

The realization that she had once been so close to him...

and now she couldn't even speak to him.

The guilt that had been sitting quietly inside him suddenly became impossible to ignore. And then came the comments.

The criticism.

The hate.

The questions from fans.

People judged him based on what they knew.

Some hated him.

Some defended him.

Some blamed him.

Some blamed Akanksha.

And some simply wanted the drama to continue. But none of them knew what was happening behind closed doors.

Every notification became another reminder.

Every comment about Akanksha became another stab of guilt.

And instead of helping him understand what he had done, the constant noise made him retreat further into himself.

Things between him and Ruru weren't normal either.Ruru eventually found out about his meeting with Akanksha in Jaipur.

Not because Yogesh had deliberately hidden it from her.But because someone who had been there had mentioned it.

To Yogesh, the meeting hadn't even been a meeting.

There had been no conversation.

No secret discussion..

Nothing between them.

They had simply seen each other for a few minutes. But Ruru didn't see it that way.For her, the fact that Yogesh hadn't told her became another reason to question him.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

Yogesh had no proper answer.

Because the truth was...

he hadn't even processed what had happened himself. His mind had been occupied with too many things.

Akanksha.

His guilt.

Splitsvilla.

The things he had done.

The things he hadn't done..

He hadn't sat down and thought, I need to tell Ruru about this. But Ruru saw his silence differently. An argument followed.

Yogesh tried to explain..

He told her there had been nothing between him and Akanksha that day.

That they hadn't even spoken. But the explanation didn't erase the fact that he hadn't told her.

Eventually, they tried to move past it.

At Urfi's party, they managed to put their differences aside for the moment.

They stood together.

They spoke.

They behaved normally.

At least from the outside.

But their relationship had already developed cracks. And those cracks were becoming harder to hide.

Then there was something else.Ruru's friendship with someone from her past.

Her best friend.

The closeness visible in some of her posts and stories started bothering Yogesh.Perhaps because there was history there.

He knew that the person had once been more than a friend. They had been in a relationship. And even though he tried not to let it affect him, he couldn't completely ignore what he saw.

It wasn't about controlling what Ruru could or couldn't post.

It was about the insecurity that had slowly entered their relationship from both sides.

Ruru questioned Yogesh about Akanksha.

Yogesh questioned things he saw around Ruru.

And somewhere between those questions...trust started disappearing.

They were no longer fighting about one particular thing. They were fighting about everything that had happened before.

Everything they hadn't said.

Everything they didn't trust.

Everything they were afraid to ask.

Eventually, Yogesh told Sorab everything.

Not bits and pieces.

Everything.

He told him about the pre-planning.

He told him what had actually happened.

He told him about Ruru..

He told him about Akanksha.

And most importantly...

he told him about the guilt he had been carrying.

Sorab listened quietly.

For a long time, he didn't say anything.

Because the more Yogesh explained, the more complicated everything became.

Finally, Sorab looked at him.

"You know what hurts the most?" he asked..

Yogesh remained silent.

"You keep telling me why you did everything. But have you ever stopped to think about what she went through because of it?"

Yogesh looked down.

Sorab continued.

"You knew she cared about you. You knew she trusted you. And when things became complicated, she was the one left standing there alone."

"I know."

"No, Yogesh."

Sorab's voice softened.

"You know it now. That's different."

Those words stayed with him.

Because Sorab wasn't trying to punish him.He was trying to make him understand. And perhaps that was worse.Because Yogesh already knew Sorab was right.

Around the same time, Akanksha was beginning to notice things too.

A story here.

A post there.

Something a fan pointed out.

Something that didn't add up with the version of events she had believed.

Slowly, pieces started falling into place. She began to suspect that there had been more behind everything than she had originally known. She didn't have the complete truth. But she was no longer completely unaware either.

Sorab knew this.

He knew Akanksha had started to understand.

But he didn't tell her.

Because Yogesh had asked him for one thing.

"Let me tell her myself."

He wanted to confess everything.

Not through someone else.

Not through social media.

Not through a third person.

He wanted to stand in front of Akanksha and tell her the truth himself. But wanting to meet her and being brave enough to meet her were two completely different things.

Every time he thought about contacting her, fear stopped him.

What if she refused?

What if she didn't even want to look at him?

What if she asked him why he had waited so long?

What if she told him that she had already moved on?

So he kept waiting.

And the longer he waited...

the harder it became.

Then came the final breaking point between Yogesh and Ruru.

The controversy involving Sorab, Ruru became bigger than any of them expected.Ruru expected Yogesh to take her side.

But Yogesh couldn't.

Not when he believed she was wrong.

He tried talking to her privately.

He tried making her understand.

He tried to stop things from becoming worse..

But Ruru didn't listen.

And eventually...

their relationship broke.

What followed was no longer private.

Social media became involved.

Stories were posted.

People began taking sides.

Old issues resurfaced.

And then Ruru said something that changed everything.

She spoke about Akanksha.

She revealed that Yogesh had feelings for her.

The internet exploded.

People who had never known the entire story suddenly had an opinion about it.

Some supported Akanksha..

Some attacked Yogesh.

Some blamed Ruru.

Some blamed everyone.

And the relationship that had already been falling apart finally collapsed completely.

They unfollowed each other.

The public saw a breakup.

But Yogesh experienced something much darker. For him, it wasn't just the end of a relationship. It felt like the collapse of the last part of his life that had been holding him together.

After that...

Yogesh disappeared.

Not completely from social media.

But from life.

He stopped meeting people.

Stopped going out unless absolutely necessary.

He came home late.

Left early.

Sometimes his friends would call him repeatedly before he finally answered. And even then, his responses were short.

"I'm fine."

"Just tired."

"Nothing happened."

The same three answers.

Again and again.

But he wasn't fine.

His friends could see it.

His eyes looked tired.

His energy had disappeared.

The person who once talked endlessly could now sit silently for hours. He stopped enjoying things.Stopped making plans.Stopped wanting to be around people.Sometimes he would lock himself in his room and simply sit there with his thoughts. And those thoughts always returned to the same place.

Akanksha.

I should have chosen differently.

I should have told her.

I should have stopped everything before she got hurt.

I should have been honest.

The past had become a place he kept visiting...

even though every visit hurt him.

His migraines became frequent.

His anxiety became harder to control.

There were nights when sleep refused to come.

There were moments when the pressure became overwhelming and his body reacted before he could even understand what was happening.

He had begun struggling with panic and severe stress.

Even eating and sleeping normally had become difficult.

And the worst part was that he hid it.

He still appeared on social media.

Still smiled.

Still behaved as though everything was normal.

Because sometimes people don't realize someone is struggling simply because that person has become good at pretending.

Sorab tried to stay close.

So did the others.

But Yogesh had started pushing everyone away.

Not because he didn't care about them.Because he didn't know how to explain what was happening inside him.How could he tell them that he was surrounded by people...

and still felt alone?

How could he explain that the person he wanted to talk to was the one person he believed he had no right to approach? And somewhere in all that guilt, there was one thought that kept returning.

I just want to talk to her once.

Not to ask her to come back.

Not to demand forgiveness.

Not even to change what had happened.

Just to tell her the truth.

But he couldn't bring himself to contact her.

Because deep down, he already knew what she might say.

And he was terrified of hearing it.

While all of this was happening...

Akanksha was moving forward.

Her career was growing rapidly.

Her fan following had crossed millions.

The same girl who had once been consumed by questions was now being loved by people who had watched her stand back up.

She was travelling.

Working..

Laughing.

Making memories.

Building friendships.

And slowly, she was becoming comfortable with the person she was without Yogesh.

She still had scars.

But scars were no longer stopping her from living.

And she didn't know...

that somewhere, the person she was trying so hard to forget was struggling every day with the memory of her.She didn't know that Suzanne, Rohit, Niharika, Gullu, Kaira and even Subhangi knew more than they were telling her.

She didn't know that Sorab was carrying a truth he had promised to keep until Yogesh was ready. And she definitely didn't know just how badly Yogesh had fallen apart.

Not yet.

Because sometimes...

the truth doesn't arrive when we are ready for it.It arrives when there is no longer anywhere left to hide from it.

And sooner or later, Akanksha would have to know.

She would have to learn what really happened. She would have to face Yogesh again.

And Yogesh would finally have to do the one thing he had been running away from for months.Stand in front of Akanksha...and tell her the truth.

Whether she forgave him or not.

Whether she listened or walked away.

Whether there was still something left between them...

or whether their story had already reached its end.

That meeting was coming.

They just didn't know when.

Would Akanksha find out about Yogesh's condition?

Would she finally learn the truth about everything that happened?

Would she meet him again?

And if she did...

would Yogesh finally be able to say everything he had been carrying inside his heart?

To know that...
